Check FRAME ALIGNMENT (fig.
105).
The extent of misalignment of the frame can be determined by taking
measurements at the various points
as indicated in figure 105.
Measure the distance from A to D
and from B to C.
The distance between these two points should not vary more than 1/8
inch.
Measure the distance from C to F
and D to E.
The distance between these two points should not vary more than 1/8
inch.
Measure the distance from E to H
and F to G.
The distance between these two points should not vary more than ½ inch.
Measure the distance from H to J
and G to K.
The distance between these two points should not vary more than 1/8
inch.
If the frame is found to be out of alignment, in most cases it can be
corrected by straightening
or replacing the damaged frame members or sections.
